Belmont Fall Meet Opens Tomorrow
Opening day for the 2015 Belmont Park Fall Meet is tomorrow and officially marks the end of summer racing and the conclusion of the Summer at Saratoga program.
Belmont will run live racing for 38 days and will feature the Turf Classic Day and Super Saturday as the highlights of the meet. Turf Classic Day will be run September 26 and Super Saturday is scheduled for October 3.
Opening Day Feature Race
During the meet, which ends on November 1, handicappers will have the option of wagering on a total of 40 stakes races beginning with tomorrow’s $100,000 Christiecat Stakes for 3YO fillies on the inner turf.
There’s 11 entered in the Christiecat with Miss Ella being the 5/2 favorite for Graham Motion. Rosario’s riding. Others entered are Devine Aida for Clement, Sister Sophia and All in Fun who’s second choice at 4 to 1 for McGaughey with Jose Ortiz up.
Irad Ortiz, Jr. who was leading rider at the recently concluded Saratoga summer meet is on Ancient Goddess for John Terranova at 15 to 1.
